If I join family member as a member and thier credit gets ruin in the long term does this effect my credit with PenFed?

No, your credit is your own and they would have their own credit and or accounts. We each are responsible for our own accounts.

Only if you’re both co-signees on any “credit” product that becomes delinquent or charged off. So make sure to watch that joint acct if ever and make sure it’s paid on time.

Sponsoring them does not make you liable in any way for anything they do.

 

Co-signing for a loan or credit product is what you are thinking of -- that would make you liable.
