I was just wondering if this was possible -- since I don't want a bunch of hard INQs (already have too many) but am looking to apply for a secured CC and possibly joing a CU or open another checking/savings account...
If I set a freeze on all three Bureaus, but offered copies of my CR/FICO/FAKO that I pulled myself (via Truecredit et al.) when applying for new products, would that be kosher?
Just looking for as many ways as possible to avoid more hard INQs when my CR is already so battered.
Thanks!

Yes you can freeze all your reports but lenders will not accept copies of any report you show them. They will have to do their own pull.

Do you have an identity theft related issue?
Blocking of CR access requires that you put an extended fraud alert in your credit file, which requires providing the CRA with an identity theft report under FCRA 612(q).

First of all, if you already have a bunch of inqs, a few more aren't going to hurt.
Secondly, the entire purpose of hard inqs is to note on your reports that you are seeking credit. If you seek credit, you have an inq.
It sounds like you're rebuilding, and having lotsa inqs is an expected part of the process for most consumers. Not for all; some just grimly wait it out until their reports look good enough to get some decent cards right out of the gate.
My guess is that anyone who you applied to who saw all three reports frozen would think that you were up to something fishy as heck. I'm certainly not saying that you are; just that this would be a logical interpretation.
edited to re-insert a word that went AWOL

A credit freeze does not have to have anything to do with a fraud alert. One is not at all a requirement for the other.
