Re: Putting a freeze on credit scores???

Freeze = To restrict access to your CR's from any HP's by paying a fee to CB's

A quick search  will give you tons of info on the matter

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Putting a freeze on credit scores???

Thanks, I suppose the purpose would be to prevent HP from lowering your score.  For ex. if you were getting a mortgage?

Not really

In most cases it's used for cases of fraud to stop others or those that can't seem to control the urge to apply apply apply but that's a case of no willpower or a solid plan ....Lol

What good does that do when you have the pin#

Re: Putting a freeze on credit scores???

Also if you have been a victim of crime(s) that have placed you and/or your family in the State Confidential Address Programs (California known as Safe at Home). You will need to speak with the security department of the CRA as they have to also block access to you updating of your address and removal of addresses that could be linked to the person(s) whom resulted in the placement into the program.

It does create a little verification issue but nothing major as your current address comes back as a prior address when apply so it will appear that your length of residency is short.

However, once you have done a manual verify you should be good even through it will not update on your report.

The freeze main purpose is for protection. As mentioned above it can be used for addiction recovery, too.

(Even though we qualify for free freeze it is a lot easier just paying the $10. Unless you have to turn it off and on often. Smiley Happy)

It really only protects you against people opening accounts in your name if they have your SS number. Thats it!

It won't help you stop apping etc lol they give you a pin, its not hard to type in and app again.
