I have a BK discharged over 4 yrs ago and an average FICO score in the mid 600's. I've applied for a Citibank checking acct and an accompanying check (debit) card tied to a frequest flyer program I use a lot.
The lady that took my app over the phone said that they rely more heavily on checking your banking history (i.e. if you had bounced cks, etc) than they do your credit score when opening a checking acct. Said its not the same parameters as when you apply for a CC.
Is this true? Do I stand a decent chance of getting this? I'm gainfully employed and will use direct deposit of my pay check into the acct.
Thanks. Any feedback will be most helpful.
