Question about inquiries

I have tons of inquries on my reports.  TU shows 30 and EX and EQ 13.  From what I have read, inq. during certain time periods when they are all for a mortgage or a car only count as one.  I would say that 75% of all of these are due to one or the other.  How do I know which ones are counting against me and which ones people who pull my report see?  Is it worth disputing to the bureaus?  For example, when I got a car loan apparently 7 different companies pulled my credit.  They are all for the same day from different banks.

great question! However, I have no answer but will watch this diligently to see what others say.

Re: Question about inquiries

you have so much time to shop and they count as 1 inq.  If you are sure of dates, etc you were shopping then dispute. I think it's 30 days.  You could call my fico direct.  I've found them very helpful at times.
