No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
OK...here is the challenge, I'm listing all the financial institutions I can easily think of and ranking them on a 1-10 scale and asking others to do the same. Base it on your personal experience with each issuer, and feel free to cut and paste and add to the list. This is not meant to rank each issuers offerings because each issuer offers too large of a variety for that. Hoping this will be fun and informative. If no experience with issuer, leave blank. Only included NFCU, USAA credit union...too many, but you may add. I know I will forget some major players, so feel free to make additions. Please put a comma after your score, leaving others scores, so at the end each score will be in the end post.

Mine are in RED
I’d like to participate, but I’m not exactly clear on what criteria others are using.
Competence of customer service on each bank’s mid-tier card? Attractive APRs or CLs? Just a very general, issuer-wide favorability rating?
Yes...just a general inquerie, I know the reason I rated cap 1 as high as I did is the simple reward structure, and how well their website is laid out. Customer service is a big consideration if it is outsourced to India. TD bank got lowest score because their card just blow. Discover gets dinged by me because they have been very stingy for CLI. If one of them ticks you off, give them a low score. I hope that with enough responses we will be able to look at it and have an idea how happy most are with each bank/cu.

My opinions are based on how I value the perks, benefits, bonuses/rewards, and competence of CSRs on generally premium cards.
For banks I've had experience with,
TD Bank - 9: excellent banking service, friendly and helpful people in branches, they caught and fixed fraudulent charges quickly, higher tier checking requires less deposited than other banks
Ally - 8: online system is convenient, free transfers
Capital One - 8: lost my initial application, but has been good since, clear benefits, 24/7 US phone support (for my card, at least), easy cashback redemption, caught and fixed fraudulent charges quickly
Wells Fargo - 5: nothing memorable. They weren't great, but not horrible either
Chase - 4: poor notifications at beginning which added fees, low limit, poor features compared to other cards but seems like they're trying to improve
Barclay - 4: advertised features of card turned out to be less useful than anticipated, community stagnant, but good for FICO score
Bank of America - 1: difficult to sign up for account, poor customer service, limited account terms, rude, difficult to close account. I avoid them and their products at all cost.
