I just got a Score Alert stating one of my accouts was changed (but my score remains unchanged). I checked it out and it says that Applied Bank Card is now listed as a Redeemed Repossession.
I am totally confused by this listing. This account has nothing to do with a car.
I have been having some issues with Applied Bank recently. During the DV process, they sent me a letter stating they are willing to delete my account from my credit report if I "settle" my account. I called the number listed on the report and I was directed to First National Collection Agency. We came to a settled amount and I paid it.
Now Applied Bank states that since I paid to First National and not to them, I broke the agreement and they will not honor what they promised (even though when I called the 800 number on the letter and was referred to the collection agency). Luckily, I have everything in writing including a letter from First National stating my account has been "settled in full" and they are the agent acting on behalf of Applied Bank.
I have spoken to a manager there twice. The last time was this past Friday 3/8 and this Redeemed Repossession appeared today.
Any thoughts on what is this and what I should do next?
