If you are a resident of Colorado, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Vermont, current state laws allow us to get a free credit report each calendar year (or each 12 month period, depending on the state). This is in ADDITION to the free reports available to us under federal law ("FACT Act"- CRs available through annualcreditreport dot com). This allows us to pull a total of 6 free credit reports each year, 2 from each bureau, and they can be spaced out so that we can pull one every 2 months (again, if we live in one of the above states).
Please keep in mind EX, TU, and EQ will offer credit scores for a fee during this process, but EX and TU are not real FICO scores (and therefore, of little/no value, imho). [enter plug here to buy scores from myfico for real fico scores

Mods: can I post links directly to the appropriate area on the sites of EX, TU and EQ for this? (they are directly to the credit bureaus, not a 3rd party offering "free credit reports") )
If it's ok, I'll post the direct links shortly, they are a bit tricky to find by just starting with their front page.
ETA: ok'd links:
