Scoring Model? Confused!

Hi again everyone!

I am building a house and have been pre-approved for a mortgage.  The lender just sent me a report that shows all of my credit scores.  I am a little confused about the scoring systems...

TU -  Score Model:  FICO Risk Score, classic 2004
EQ - Score Model:  FACTA Beacon 5.0
EX -  Score Model:  Fair Isaac Redeveloped (FICO 2)

What do these mean?  I thought FICO was just FICO?  Are there different types of FICO's?  What about the FACTA?  Is that a FAKO?  I thought EQ used FICO?  I'm confused!

Re: Scoring Model? Confused!

You are initially correct...Equifax is the true FICO score, and the others (going by different names) are also the "true" FICO score names.  The only true and correct places to get your legitimate 3 FICO scores are from MyFICO.com or the lenders like your morgage co. or bank.  All the other services providing scores are fako scores.  Those 3 names you discussed are simply different names each of the three CRA's use to call it your true and correct FICO score.

Re: Scoring Model? Confused!

There are different "flavors" of FICO.
