I assume you have to have some military affiliation? I just received my Member packet and access#, but the application requires that I have this affliliation (strange, since the online app. had an option for "civilian"). Also, did you get an instant online approval for the card? Thanks.

I'm not familiar with Navy Federal, but I am in the military and this might help answer your question. Many lenders that specifically cater to military also cater towards Department of Defense civilian contractors, which may help explain the 'civilian' option.

Yes, you need to meet the membership qualifications on their site, if you do not they WILL freeze your accounts and terminate your membership when doing reviews.
