Smart Credit 100% Price Increase

Not sure why I subscribed to the Smart Credit service, other than I didn't think the $9.95/mo was too unreasonable.  Last night I got an e-mail from them advising that there would be a "slight" price increase to $19.95/mo, effective the next billing period.  I don't claim to be perfect in math, however I am thinking that a 100% price increase is a bit more than "slight".   Smiley Happy

i called them to cancel first thing this morning.  As expected, they offered me everything under the sun to not cancel, but I stuck to my guns.  I almost felt bad for the rep, as she said in a slightly softer voice that she is literally taking once cancellation call after another today.

Sounds like you weren't the only one who thought a 100% increase is a bit more than a "slight" price increase. Never heard of them, but they don't don't seem as smart as their name implies.

She offered me a free month, then a second free month.  She then said that she might be able to work on a monthly fee reduction, however I told her I just wanted to cancel.

Re: Smart Credit 100% Price Increase

I let Smartcredit stick me with the $19.95 bill as I had tried to cancel the previous month and they gave me a free month.

But it's gonna be gone after this month...there are other ways.

Re: Smart Credit 100% Price Increase

I'm guessing this has been a difficult week for those working the phones at Smart Credit.  Wouldn't want to be in their shoes.

Re: Smart Credit 100% Price Increase

I agree. It will be interesting to see what happens with them. A 100% price increase is a bit steep in my opinion.
