Statute of Limitations and Moving States

I incurred all of my debts while living in Indiana. I moved to Illinois 3 years ago. How does this play into the statute of limitations of debts? Do we follow Indiana SOL, Illinois SOL, is SOL frozen? I need help in determining when my debts pass SOL.

The creditors can sue in whichever state they choose, whichever one is favorable to them.

Re: Statute of Limitations and Moving States

Ok, so SOL for open accounts is 5 years in IL and 6 in IN, I should assume after 6, the the debt is past SOL? Also, i have been reading conflicting reports. Should I wait until SOL expires before hitting the dispute process hard to avoid the potential of getting sued or is immediate action best? Message Edited by babalaco on 03-17-2008 09:37 PM
