Strange deletion after PDF letter sent

I sent a PFD letter to a CA for a legitimate debt that I owe. I also requested verification. This is a fairly new debt from 2006. It's been 30 days and I never heard from them. However, after checking my recent credit reports they deleted the entry.

Are they going to sue me? I offered to pay in full for a delete - I can't understand why they would not respond and delete the record off all three credit reports. It was for $404.

Anyone else find this strange, or should I just be happy.

Edited: Now that I think about it, why would they sue me if I offered to pay in full, huh? And no, it wasn't Cap 1. Strange though.

I had the same thing happen to me only my debt was nearly double yours and they sent me a letter saying the debt wasn't mine... But mine was cap1.
