TXU old bill resurfacing. Please Help.

This was from when I opened an Antique/Craft store and had to close it down. I don't have the funds to pay this. What do I do? Please help.

Are you making payments on this?  If so, when was your last payment - from your records?

As teamfico asked, are you making any payments?....SOL may or may not be in question based on your answer.

Did the account close in Nov. 1999 or thereabouts? If so, you could probably dispute with EQ based on CRTP. However, SOL is important to know; a limited number of states have SOL past the 7-8 yrs. SOL can reset if payments were made.

What teamfico and llecs said. However, even if SOL is 10 years, CRTP is 7-7.5 years. I would want to know the SOL (hopefully you haven't reset it by paying on it). But I would dispute with EQ that it is obsolete and have it deleted.

Did you make that 7/05 payment?

I have not paid one dime.  They called me right after that and wanted to set me up on payments monthly till I paid it off.  But that has been so long ago I don't even remember what was said.

No payments were made.  What are my options now.  If I dispute it how would I say it.  I think online the drop down menu's only give you choices and then you can add more info. Would I say something like this:

Please verify DO 1st Del. 2006 report from you says different DOLA.

Only problem is, they are reporting it current.  This could get really bad. I have since in the past week paid off my credit cards and left like 10.00 on them. I have made payments on time with everything else and my credit score now says it went up 2 points from 440 to 442. Should go up quiet a bit since I am way below on my credit cards now, only problem is bugging me for a year now is the

TXU.

As I am reading what you posted the is the electric company reporting not a CA - OC Plan:

Dispute with CRAs (if you haven't already) wait for it to verify then send this letter 

Any bets as if they can come up with the records from almost 9 years ago?

Yes, I believe it is the TXU due to the changes from my 2006 report and my 2008 report.

Do I need to mention this:

Your report from 2006 has DOLA different from 2008 report. Please verify DOLA and DO 1st Del?

Or should I just say please verify?

If this was last paid in 1999   you should be past SOL and CRTP.

Ok, I am looking at my 02/2004 MyFico CR and the TU Electric account says:

Open Account

Credit Limit $692

DO 4/99

DOLA 11/99

CO account

Last Rep Feb. 2000 Current Status Bad debt/collection

That was from my 2004 CR.  The OC TU Elec is the one reporting.  I should

DV the TU Elec for SOL, or dispute first the CRA?
