Does anyone know what Verizon Wireless requirements are for new service? I'm currently an AT&T customer but I hate the service. I want to make the switch to Verizon but I want to be prepared for the worst. Is there a particular credit score they are looking for? If so and you don't meet that score, what is the deposit amount? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
If your scores are anything close to your signature and you have no recent baddies, you should have no trouble.
Thanks for the response, stanggt03. Those were my scores pulled just last month. I do have 2 collections items from 2009 and a 30 day late in 2009. Hopefully that isn't too recent to be considered negatively.
You'll be fine. I got a verizon account a while back when my scores weren't the best. Also, they would only require a deposit, they wouldn't flat out deny you ever so say 2 reps I spoke with

+1.
Awesome, thank you all for your responses. I get a little anxious about things like this because my fear is that I would be flat-out denied and embarassed in front of a whole store. Thanks for easing that anxiety!
You definitely won't be denied -- they'll just pull your credit (hard inquiry on EX & TU for me) and run it through their evaluation system, which will determine what kind of deposit you would require, if any.
I'm in the 400s-500s score range and they asked me for a $400 deposit to start a contract/get a phone two months ago.
I don't think it's possible to get denied unless you've been blacklisted due to past issues with them... they just hike up the deposit according to how 'bad' your credit is. The good thing is that they give you back your deposit with slight interest after 12-14 months. But you have to keep your payment history absolutely impeccable.
