WTF is wrong with Experian???

I was just looking over some of my accounts on Experian and they are completely wrong with their dates of how long the account is scheduled to remain on record. Can someone tell me what to do? Should I call EX on the phone and tell them to fix the date of when they should fall off? Or wait until after the 7 years is up based on the first 30 day late then call and tell them to delete it?

The correct date it should fall off is Aug 2008

It looks like you caught up a few times with the payments. It looks like 2009 is correct.

Re: WTF is wrong with Experian???

Their estimated date on when the accounts should fall off don't match up to the dates that you highlighted either though.

I thought that all the CRAs went by the Date of First Delinquency (even if I did catch up on my payments at one time)?

Re: WTF is wrong with Experian???

AHHHHHHHHH! Looks like you're right. So if payments are caught up, that DOFD means absolutely nothing, as it is determined by the last 30 day late reported.

I was just thinking that just about all of my stuff should fall off this year. Smiley Sad Smiley Sad Smiley Sad I'm such an idiot. Why did I ever pay those idiots when I should have known I was way in over my head. Those **bleep** CCCs need to stop giving CCs out like they're candy. Discover gave me a CL of over $5,000 when I didn't even have a job!!!! It only serves them right that they lost all that money.

I'm going to go explode now. $#%*!!!!

I'm not quite understanding how it's their fault that you spent money you knew you didn't have and now you're upset because they want to be paid...

It doesn't look like you've learned anything at all from the experience.

When I was 19 I opened a Discover card and they gave me a CL of $5,750. I made the payments for over 5 years without ever being late. At the time I had a balance of around $3,000. Then after I was late my APR went to over 25% and I was getting hit with $30 late fees left and right. So my $3,000 balance quickly skyrocketed and my minimum payments were just too hard to keep up with.

I know it's morally wrong to act like a debt shouldn't have to be repaid, but these CCCs are just horrid. This debt has ruined my life and I have surely paid dearly for it. It's just a shame that the CCCs can't be more fair by not adding all of these ridiculous late fees and super high interest rate on an already high CC balance.

One thing it did teach me is that I can easily live debt free. I've paid cash for everything I've bought the past seven years. The major setback from all this is that my wife and I now have to share one car and we're in our 30s and still renting. Our household income is over twice the average of the county we live in, yet we still cannot buy a car or house.

Have you seen Maxxed Out or the PBS documentarys? Do you have any idea how much money they make? They actually want customers that can't make monthly payments because they make so much more money, although some accounts do actually get charged off, which they can still sell for a small % plus write it off on their taxes.
