What CCC allow you to add a new account yet keep your original Open Date

I didn't want to get a new card with a pre-existing CCC and then have them add a newer date to the new card and hurt my average credit age. Any help? thanks

Or does anyone have any cards that they had where they got another from the same company and kept the same original open date.???

I've only seen the dates associated with each account (therefore each credit card has its own open date).  Perhaps a CLI over a new card?

I am confused. Are you reopening an existing account that was closed?

Re: What CCC allow you to add a new account yet keep your original Open Date

I think OP means if he opened a Chase card in May 2006, for example, and successfully applied for a second Chase card in June 2007, would the new card show a "Date Opened" of 5/06 or 6/07.

In most cases, each card displays its own opening date. However, I have seen a number of reports by Amex customers that newer cards have had their opening date back-dated to the date their first card opened. Perhaps a multiple-card Amex customer (Tuscani?) can confirm whether they have ever experienced that?

Exactly I do have a American Express card from a few years ago and was wondering if I open another American Express account if they would "back date" my new card to the original date.

Yes, they can and they will and they did it for me.

To clarify: I was just referring to Chase as an example. I've not read that anyone other than Amex has done such back-dating for new cards.
