Re: What can I do about accurate late payments?

Okay, let's try this again.
I have several late payments on 5 credit cards. I have begun paying them on time, but would like to know if there is anything I can do (other than paying on time and waiting) that will speed up the process of dropping them off my CR.
How long do these reported late payments stay on my CR?

They stay on for 7 years generally.  You can send a GW letter (Good Will) to them to ask if they can forgive those late payments.  Just use the search engine up above for GW examples.

Good luck!

Thank you,
Are there any CC companies I should be forewarned about who are hard-nosed about not responding warmly to GW letters?

Re: What can I do about accurate late payments?

I have read on this forum that Cap 1 is not too easy to work with.  I have sent GW letters to them, and they have not answered me.

You might want to post who you have baddies with, because someone on here might have had success with who you are dealing with.  They can share their secrets.

Re: What can I do about accurate late payments?

Grrrrreat!!!
Two of the listings are for capital one cards (both accts are open and I am making on time payments) and NO, I am not charging on them either!
The others are Dell Financial services (open acct)
Juniper (closed by credit grantor)--are they barclays now?
Providian-Wamu (closed by credit grantor)
Any suggestions?
