Re: What does your score need to be in order to get approved for unsecured credit card?

No credit check? Smiley Surprised  I remember Fingerhut doing this sort of thing, not too long before they stopped sending out catalogs, stopped accepting applications for credit and I believe they may have declared some form of bankruptcy. They are completely different after reopening for business and much more strict on their credit approvals.

I smell financial trouble coming their way.

My TU score is 662 and I can't get a Hooters or any Juniper/Barclay's card to save my life.  Oh well, I have Target Visa and Capital One.

Go for Crown Jewelers (www.crownjewelers.com).  No credit check ( = no inquiry hit/score decrease) and they'll give you $1500 limit.  Reports to EX (I think.  Or is it TU?)  Anyway, they report once a month during the 1st week, so if you act now, it might actually make your report within 2 weeks.

If I recall correctly, Fingerhut didn't report to the bureaus and they also didn't get SSNs during the app process, so there was no way to really recover the lost money.  I had a FH account in '91 (yes, I actually liked their stuff, lol!) and I'm pretty sure I never provided that info.  I could be wrong, though.

Crown Jewelers has stores also so they are not just online. Also they have been in business for a while like this. The thing is just because people have bad credit from past mistakes doesn't mean that they will fall down that road again,. .
