Where can I find SOL for my state?

Also, does SOL go by the state I live in or the state the company is in? I know it's a stupid question but I just wanted to make sure.

TIA

State you live in or state you opened account in, if different from current state of residence.

Ok, the SOL in my state is 3 years. That just means they can't collect right? It doesn't mean that it drops f/ my CR after 3 yrs?

Re: Where can I find SOL for my state?

It means that if they sue you and you show up and tell the judge it is past SOL, then case dismissed.

They can try to collect as long as they wish. They just can't use any legal proceedings to try to collect.

Has nothing to do with how long it stays on report.

CRTP is 7 years from DOFD, for most things. Public records are different.
