I just looked at my EQ report and noticed the following inquiry:
PRM - MDA Capital, Inc on 8/27/12
Who is MDA Capital, Inc? PRM is a code Equifax uses for promotional pulls. All I could find online was that they are a company out of St. Petersburg, FL.
Thanks,
Duncan
Looks like they are some kind of dealer/car financing company. They have a website, was the first link on a google search.
Since the inq was promotional, I'd expect some kind of car loan/dealer "offers" to come in the mail.
+1 Unless you've had a previous account and an outstanding balance with them I'd assume that's what it was.
PRM is the inquiry code to record "inquiries" made for promotion offers for credit. They are special types of inquiries that are regulated by FCRA 604(c).
They relate to inquiries made in connection with credit or insurance transactions that were not intitiated by the consumer.
PRM inquiries are not entitled to your full CR. They are less than normal soft pulls, as they lack any account-specific information. They only receive your name and address, and then only if they have stated to the CRA that their request is for the purpose of making you a firm offer of credit or insurance. They are not scored by FICO, as they are not inititated by a consumer.
If you dont later receive a firm offer from them, then they are in violation of section 604(c) as not having fulfilled the stated reason for their inquiry.
I know this thread isn't super current -
If they don't send you a firm offer and its really only a soft pull is it worth making waves over?
They also Soft pulled me but never sent me anything - I have a couple that have done that besides MDA capital.
LOL Duncanrr.

They finally sent me something and I shredded it. And then mailed it back to them in their prepaid envelope.
Nice one!
