Why can't we dispute FICO scores like we do credit reports?

The government regulates how CRA's and Creditors report information.  Why want the goverment regulate the accuracy of FICO scores?   FICO should be regulated to inform consumer how their FICO was computed.

Re: Why can't we dispute FICO scores like we do credit reports?

While the information in your CR is supposed to be accurate and has a fixed set of rules on what is reported and for how long, credit scores are based on statistics and thus subjective.  Also there is the MR processs which is 100% subjective.

FICO scores are 100% accurate in their output unless there is a bug in the software that is running the scorining algorithm.

If the algorithm was made public, then no lender or consumer would pay for the scores thus the would be out of business.

You dont want the government deciding what the credit scoring algorithm is.  LOL if they did, it would probably be secret since the government would view it as a source of income and we would all be in the myUSGOVSCORE.gov forum tyring to determine how it works, except for me since I am a government employeee and would transfer to the branch that does it in a hearbeat,
