Why is it impossible to contact Collection Agencies?

Why do collection agencies make it impossible for you to get in touch with them. They're always changing addresses and phone numbers. And the websites they have are only geared toward companies not the people they collect the debt from. And why can you not pay your debt to CA's online? What is the purpose of all these hurdles?

That's certainly not true of all CAs. The ones I dealt with were big and always encouraged me to call or pay online. Now there are some smaller ones out there that certainly lack the means to pay online. However, you wouldn't really want to pay online anyway because your ultimate goal should be to pay via a PFD since a paid Ca is equally score damaging. I had an OC I was GWing and the always changed their address and know how frustrating it can be. Sometimes it's better to send 5-10 letters at once and hope it gets to the right place.
