Re: average/median fico scores should be dropping...

Here's an entry level place near me.

The school district is great, and if I can find something in the 1200 sf range for under $400K, I'm hoping to get into it.

Average price of a home in Hawaii 680K. So what might you get for this price:

1300sqft living space
4750sqft lot
1 car carport
house built in the 50's or 60's
termite and cockroach infested
needs major renovations
plumbing and wiring needs to be redone
crowded neighborhood with lots of crime, gangs and drugs
oh and the highest property taxes in the universe

400K in the Midwest would get you a mansion  Smiley Very Happy

Re: average/median fico scores should be dropping...

When I lived in Burlington (NC), price of real estate was extremely affordable.

Just looked and I saw a new home for sale on Yahoo Real Estate in Gibsonville (which had a really good reputation for it's school district).

3 bedroom, 2 bath, garage, new construction on almost an acre for $142K.
