credit card authorized user

I am an authorized user on my fiancee's credit card.  I was reading somewhere that they were not going to score your payment history or the history of the account if you were only a authorized user as of September of 2007?  I think I read that you have to change the status of the secondary user does anyone know what you have to change the status to and if this is correct?
