this is my situation: I owed HUD some money which they want paid after I refinanced my house. I received a letter and a form from them with a deadline to apply for a monthly payment. I called them and asked them for some more time in order to pay them in full and they agreed. After paying the debt in full, they report the debt for the first time on all credit bureaus as paid collection. I called them again and they said they can't change it to paid as agreed. I send letter to the regional director asking for a change of heart since I was mislead with no luck. What do anybody think I should do at this time? this collection report is hurting me big time.
