You should probably try for it if you want it. Your chances are better for getting a secured card.

You need it to start building your credit file and score.

The criteria is different for the secured card and the unsecured card.

I would suggest that you call them, explain you were denied their unsecured card and ask them if you will qualify for the secured card without pulling your report again.
