how offen do you guys pull your report?

I have sent out a few GW's and took off all the miss spellings of my name and wrong address. Also had a collection that should not have been on my CR that i was told would be taken off in less than 30 days from a CSR. I know i take that with a grain of salt but i was wanting to know how offen you guys pull your report? now that i am trying my best to get my score up i want to check it once a week but don't want to pay 50 dollars for 3 reports. What to do?

Re: how offen do you guys pull your report?

Hi Mac. That's a very common question here.

Most of the people that's been here a while, subscribe to a cms(credit monitoring service). Many of those's allow pulling your cr's daily if you want to. They include credit scores. But all give FAKO scores....not FICO. Well, I think one or 2 might give FICO scores. But with a cms, you only get one CRA's cr on you.

I belong to one. I pull 2 or 3 times per week, or just when I feel like it. For FICO scoring, I use the FICO Complete product once per quarter. CR's from all 3 CRA's plus FICO scores.

There's lots of cms's out there. Here's an excellent thread regarding the various cms's.
I highly suggest you read it thoroughly if you are considering to subscribing to one:

Re: how offen do you guys pull your report?

I have credit keeper to pull reports whenever but as the trial is going I hate it and am going to cancel. I plan on pulling myfico's once per month with all 3 and next pull is end of this month. I can't wait to see how my first month of dilligence from things I learned from this site just may pay off.

Also when you dispute online you can pull a current report on all so I printed out all three reports from online dispute forms as well as my fico reports...

Re: how offen do you guys pull your report?

Pulling your report is important if you want to track what's happening and to track the cause and effect relationships between the actions you take. I pull MyFICO reports twice a month and use TC in the interim. Once we buy a home later this year, we'll scale back to once a month and then to once a quarter once things solidify.

Re: how offen do you guys pull your report?

For many of us, it depends on where our credit ratings are, how soon we plan to make a big purchase (car, house, etc), when we "expect" our scores to change (via falloffs or good behavior), and how OCD we are regarding our scores. I'm happy with my scores now. And I know when to expect some improvements via falloffs and aging credit card accounts this summer, so I probably won't pull again until april or may. I will pull more often as I get closer to the end of the year as I am expecting to buy a car at that time. After that, I probably will pull quarterly, if that often.
