public collections

I have two collections on my credit report that i got when i was married in 2003.  I have never received any information as to how to pay them off. I am trying to improve on my credit. How do i go about fixing this right know my credit is 618 and i am trying to buy a house in two years.

Babygurl, the company that placed the collection on your report is where you need to start. Get copies (if you do not already have them) of your reports and at the end there will be the information on those collections. Contact them and get proof of your payment. Then you need to get the collections off the report and I am in a similar quandry now for a parking ticket I need to get removed. Somehow we should be able to get a phone number of fax or something to verify it gets cleared.

Good luck on your new home. Your 618 should jump after you clear those collections.
