In my posts I've been ranting about how AMEX is currently treating me and lowering my CL to just above my balance. It is messing with my score and I want out. I received a "you could qualify" offer from BofA in the mail. It's a consolidation LOC with no annual fee. I immediately thought of paying off the AMEX since they're playing the games with me. But I am a bit scared. If I call to see if they'll approve (I'm 650 fico) and they turn me down, then I've got a hard inquiry to further mess with my score. If they approve but offer me a high interest rate, I wonder if that would be better than the hell i'm in with AMEX. I'm really sweating applying for this, but AMEX is making me sweat AND lose sleep. I don't want a hard pull if I'm not going to get approved. It's administered by FIA Card Services. Anyone heard of?
