No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
You are doing just fine.
1. Pay down the credit card debt with the 10K.
2. Only take out a consolidation loan if you really need too. Once you pay down 10K it should free up some extra cash to get the other cards paid off quickly. Use the snowball method. Pay minimum on all the cards except the one with the smallest balance. Put any extra money towards the card with the smallest balance and once that card is paid off, rinse and repeat.
3. Do not close any credit cards unless they have an annual fee. If you must, just sock drawer the cards you don't want any more and let the lenders close them for non-use. It might take a lender a few years to close them and in the mean time they will help your credit scores.
4. Too much credit isn't ever a problem. Don't let anyone tell you differently. The whole idea of building a good thick and rock solid credit portfolio involves as much credit as you can get. (Okay, 2X your annual earnings is time to stop.)

Totally, too much credit is NEVER a problem, er, until it's a problem. I'm right there with you!
