where should I be looking?

Hi,

I was wondering where I look to check is a CA is licensed to collect in my state?  Also,  if the collection is from Connecticut and I live in North Carolina would I need to look if they are licensed in CT or where I'm living now?

Thanks guys!

Re: where should I be looking?

NC is 3-5 years and CT is 6 years for both.  If I were you I would check NC law....call whoever handles out of the AGs office.  AS to here  http://www.ct.gov/dob/cwp/view.asp?a=2233&q=297872

now if  the judgment was from a CA WHILE you still lived in CT  a CA can NOT file for a judgment!!!!!! ONLY an attorney can do that  CT state law!!!!!

Many times I use google to get state info....you might have to google under different wording  but you can usually get info on who to call & phone #s there.
