Is this a big must. In the last two years I was on W2. I was laid off 7 months ago and just recieved a job on 1099. Will this pretty much shut me out of any chance?
How long were you actually out of work? Was your salary on 1099 comparable (after considering taxes)?
I was out of work for 7 months.
The gap in employment might cause some issues for you. Try to work closely with the underwriter and provide a letter of explanation.
