I purchased new credit scores yestarday and to me great surprise my Equifax score only increased by 8 points and my Transunion score dropped 9 points. The Equifax report has a note on the disputed item basically saying that I dispute the informaiton on the item eventhough it has been corrected. Does this have an effect on the score? How long will this note stay on my report? I feel like I should have listened when I was told to leave well enough alone.
