I signed my contract 04/30/10 and we closed 07/22.. and I wanted to amend my 2009 tax return, do you have to change it to your new address??? Thanks for any input.
Yes i would change your address on the form and i would also separately mail the IRS form 8822 http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8822.pdf a lot of people were having issues with their first time homeowners check getting sent to their old addy and then it gets sent back to the IRS (govt mail isnt forwarded) so it was taking about a month longer for them to get their check.
