I am scheduled to close in less than 2 weeks and I am starting to plan for some home improvement projects. I plan to ammend my 2008 return to get the $8000 credit ASAP, but I have no idea how long that will take. I have never ammended a tax return before, so I don't know if there is more processing time involved than there is when you file the first time.
