Hello!! I am trying to see if anyone out there might be able to help me. I have had some credit issues in the past that I am working on. However, I have a SOLID work history/income and GREAT rental reference. Anyone have any idea of any company that might offer me a mortgage based off of these two things with a lower than 620 credit score??
Thanks for any information that you could provide!!!
620 is really the lowest acceptable credit score allowed on most programs. FHA and VA have a few lenders that will go to 620. You may want to have a lender take a look at your credit report to see if there are some things you can work on sooner than others to help get that score up.
I worked with Wells Fargo at the Montrose Ohio office. My LO told me that there are still a few lenders who look at sub 620s. I do not remember what else he said about them because the information did not apply to me, but I do remember him describing the changes in the mortgage industry and how they look at FICO scores now vs then, etc. He defintely said sub-620. I would look them up on the internet and send them an email.
Best of luck to you.
