Applying for a mortgage loan

I have been told that it is OK to have multiple brokers/lenders run my credit when I am shopping for a loan but I just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with this or advice on the matter.

Thanks!

Re: Applying for a mortgage loan

As long as the loan officers pull your credit within 15-30 days of each other, it only counts as 1 pull. I'm working with 2 loan officers and 1 county program and they have all pulled our credit within each other and it only counted as one and it didn't affect our score.

I would suggest going to one and explaining what you intend to do

Let them pull your credit but get a copy of it

Then take that to the others for their quote

If they will not give you an estimate based on that then move on

Once you have decided you can have another pull if needed
