I'm soon going to be applying for a mortgage loan and when I pulled my credit report I found 3 collections. 2 medical bills a few years old and an very old Comcast bill from several years ago. How should I handle these? Pay them now or ignore them. I've read various things on the forums. Some same paying them now will actually bring my score down, while others say paying them will bring my score up. I've also read some say that you can kind of haggle with them and by saying "If I pay in full right now, will you remove it entirely from my report" and some have had success with that. Thoughts on what I should do?
ignore them
they wont need to be paid.
if your lender says differently, apply elsewhere.......
