Auto Lease w/ bankruptcy

I was told by a car dealer that I did not qualify to lease a car.  I had to take out a loan only.  My BK was d/c over 2 years ago and I have worked hard to re-establish perfect credit for the last two years.

Re: Auto Lease w/ bankruptcy

In most cases, it is easier to get into a lease than a loan from a prime lender, but harder than getting a sub-prime loan. Just like loan companies, lease companies have different guidelines for who they will lease to. You may be able to get a lease from a different manufacturer. Ford and GMAC have traditionally been the most forgiving. There are a lot of factors to consider, but in most instances you are better off buying. The only exception is some of the extra low lease rates you can get from the manufacturers, especially luxury cars. Stay away from bank leases all together...they are never favorable.
