Best approach to get preapproved for FHA loan

Hello

so we are now ready to purchase our first home. Now I'm not sure how to go about getting preapproved. The homes in our area go really fast so it's best to get a preapproval. I keep hearing different ways to do it, some say go online, some say go through the realtor, so I'm just not sure how to go about it the best.

I would appreciate any help/advice! Thanks

Go to the lender!!!   I used a LO at my local bank.  Or you could use a mortgage broker.  But go in and talk to them face to face!  They want your business, they want to make this happen.  It's in their best interest too!

talk to friends/family/coworkers about who they used for a loan.

if that doesnt work.... realtor can refer you to a loan officer.
