Re: Best lenders/brokers in your city or state

Finding a reputable person in any profession isn't the easiest task.  There are industry groups that one can belong to, a special designation after completing certain education or coursework, and even state & federal websites stating who is permitted and not permitted to lend in their state, offer government loans, etc.  One website that you hope that your professional isn't named on is http://www.ripoffreport.com/, it's a website that let's consumers post their experiences (usually unpleasant ones) and also lets other people, even the person being "reported", can respond to.  If you can trust your instincts, it's usually easy to know you have found the right person when you are conversing with them, whether it's a doctor, financial advisor, real estate agent or loan officer... if you get that feeling like you can really trust the person, that they have your best interest in mind, they listen when you speak, and aren't dismissive of any ideas no matter how impractical... that professional might be a good fit for you.
