Midland is soooo frustrating!! One condition from my LO was that my Midland Collection had to be paid. I called on March 27 and paid it! After I paid it I sent a GW letter for deletion!
I called them yesterday and requested them to send me a receipt and if they were not going to delete they at the very least needed to update with the CRA that is is paid. I was VERY nice! He said that they will not send a receipt for 45 days and that is also when they will update the CRA!!! WHAT?? I need this receipt to show the UW, I am suppose to close by May 19!! As a last ditch effort I mentioned to him because I live in NY the CRTP is 5 years which was up last month, on paid collections! He laughed at me and basically called me a liar and hung up!
So this is my question, Midland put a dispute remark on my account after I asked for DV a few months ago! Since the remark is already there (keep in mind I am in the middle of mortgage process) Should I dispute with the CRA to get these removed due to the NY statute, won't they investigate and Midland will have to tell them it is paid and then the CRA will remove it??? I am really thinking this process will be quicker than waiting for Midland!

I believe it's 5 years from date of payment. Check the law to be sure, though.
TU and EQ say it goes by the DOFD from the OC!! EX does also but I heard they won't follow the 5 year rule if the Collection was settled for less than the Full amount!
