We had a foreclosure back in June of 2012. We're thinking of purchasing a new home soon and wanted to make sure everything was ready to go. I called HUD and asked for my elgibility date and was informed that they could not give me one since Chase (our lender at the time) never filed a claim. Since there was no claim for the foreclosure there isn't an elgibility date. The foreclosure shows up on our CAIVRS so now I'm in a strange place.
If we contact Chase and ask them to file the claim, then we have to wait 3 years from when they are paid (from my understanding). Really unsure how to proceed in this situation or if I'm just out of luck and have to wait 3+ years to get my CAIVRS clear. Any thoughts on what I can do?
