Can I use my CU for mortgage?

I am a current member of a credit union which I really like.  I have my HELOC with them.   I want to sell and move to the next county over.  I would like to use my CU for my new mortgage since they are so easy to work with but since the new house is in a different county I can't use them can I?

Also, if I could still use them for my new house (they do not have my current mortgage-just the HELOC) would I have to pay off my current HELOC or could they just 'change the lien' to my new house?

Thanks for any help!

Re: Can I use my CU for mortgage?

You should be fine as far as using them (in most cases)

You will have to pay off the old mortgage and the HELOC unless youa re keeping then old property.
