Can mortgage loan have open installment loan consolidated

I was wondering if lenders were still allowing borrowers to roll installment loans into thier mortgage loans. I remember this use to be an option in the past, but I was wondering if this was still going on in the current climate. I figured I would get some answers here before I even asked my broker because I am sure he will give an answer that will go towards whatever outcome or scenario he wants from me.

If doing a refinance and you have sufficient equity yes you can pay off a loan with your mortgage it is considered a cash out refi

If doing a purchase no as you cannot

If you are worried that your loan officer is giving you answers to steer you into a loan program they want you to use, rather than going over your options and advising you on the best loan program for your situation, that is a problem in itself.
