They might be pulling old reports when you do the log in way. Thats how it was when I was requesting increases on my credit card......it would give reasons of denial due to a report from a few months back....weird lol.
But when I did it as a new customer without logging in, it pulled my updated reports.
My wife and I did the Capital One pre-qualification since it was a soft pull. We both have 780+ mortgage scores. We were instantly approved for 200K. One week later we went to see a broker and he did a hard pull and scrutinized our credit report and got pre-approved for $325K. I would take that Capital One pre-qualification with a grain of salt
Yea i don't trust the preapproval to give me the maximum borrowing power. I did the prequal and got prequalified for only 170,000 where as i went else where are was preapproved for a 282,000 mortgage.
