Re: Chances of approval?? (long please bare with me and help!)

I use my credit generously. I charge 90% of my monthly expenses on credit and pay in full every month. The more I charge, the more cash back I earn. Since July, I have earned $250 cash back. It can be redeemed as a statement credit, a check, or used in the rewards mall for online gift certificates, store deals, and travel. My Chase Freedom came with $100 cash back as a sign up bonus for spending $500 in the first 3 months. Your score isn't on par yet for the Freedom but in 6 months, Capital One might give you their Cash Rewards card. I have that card too and I love it.
Cards: Orchard Bank ($1100) | Cap1 Cash Rewards ($2500) | Chase Freedom ($1000) | Best Buy ($2500) | Discover It ($1000) | Barclay Rewards ($2500) | Current scores: EX FAKO: 684, CK TU: 649, FICO EQ: 680, FICO TU: 698, FICO EX: 658 Happy Homeowner Since 2/6/13! Well the walmart card was a no-go. Can't say that i'm surprised. He probably won't be able to get approval for an unsecured card for a while.

Re: Chances of approval?? (long please bare with me and help!)

I know you didn't mention anything about your FICO scores.  Could yours help the situation?  I know I stopped checking my credit for a couple of years because it fluctuated so much and I didn't intend to make any large purchases.  When I finally broke down and checked it, there was a charge off that I was not aware of.  Paid it in full and got it deleted.  That 1 charge off being deleted made my score jump over 40 points. It is a slow process, but it can be done.  Early January my EQ FICO (from this site) was 586 and is now 643.  So I am definitely working on mine, too..  Again, it can be done.  Good luck and hope your dreams come true.

Well, he got a SW alert tonight, his score was a 511 on 3/3, 558 on 3/22, and tonight... A 612!!!!! (this is EQ) a collection fell off. There is another one falling off in July, plus a 30 day late payment getting removed for our auto that will report next month, AND the FP cc we settled will be reporting $0 next month, (down from $96) We're gonna be there a lot sooner than we thought!!!!
