Closing Process

Hello all, I've read where people have stated that the closing took anywhere from 20 mins to 4 hours! I was wondering what do the seasoned home buyers look for on the closing documents? I know some feel they don't have to read it all,  because as long as the key items are checked there is no need to.  Just wondering what I should not skip over. Thanks

Re: Closing Process

Promissory note..... Loan terms

Deed of Trust..... This conveys ownership to you and you name should be correct

Survey.... So you understand the easements

Tax form.... Make sure your name and social is correct

Everything else is lender/govt fluff.

Re: Closing Process

Is the Promissary Note the same as the Truth in Lending statement?  I hear some people talk about that form and how many people must have overlooked that (with regards to this housing crisis) since they didn't know how their rates can change as drastically as some have.

Thanks
