Collections: PFD or let em expire?

So I'm going to start shopping for a mortgage soon. I have 3 delinquencies  as reported by TU (EQ shows none), and was told they are scheduled for deletion all within mid 2010. They total $270, so not much. I can easily PIF, but i believe that would reset their account activity thus keeping them on my report for another 7 years, and showing up as new activity thus hurting my fico score. Will leaving these on my CR have any impact with my LO when it comes time to get preapproved and/or fully approved? He will naturally see the insignificance of them and how old they are, but I am still worried they may hurt my loan options. Should I proceed with preapproval or clean these off first?

If your scores are ok, don't tuch them. You will not be required to pay them to close on a home loan.

Well, some lenders will want you to. Others won't. Ask UP FRONT!!!!!!!!
